Artist, Gaye Chan , chair of Art and Art History Department at University of Hawaii, Manoa, has been creating many cool public art projects in Hawaii.  Chan’s simple yet effective ideas make me think about a role of an artist in contemporary society.  Check out her site: Eating in Public for more info.

I used to see these hand-made bikes(Sekine, Marubeni Yamaguchi, Eiryu, Mizutani, Maruka and more)  in Japan all the time as a kid.  Everything (tofu, noodles, ice block, etc…) came on these work bikes.  However, as Japanese got richer and lazier, many manufactures could not ride the wave of Japanese modernization.

This is my usual mess after making 10 drawings.  It is not very environmentally friendly.

Lezyne  released their new bicycle pump “CNC Floor Drive.”  It is so beautiful that matches very well to your GUCCI suit.

I have been crazy about Gundam for many years.  This year, BANDAI will be celebrating the 30th anniversary  of GUNDAM by building a highly detailed GUNDAM RX-78 in Tokyo.  I will be there for sure this summer.  Check out these progress photos.

Congratulations to Denis Menchov who won the 100th anniversary edition of the Giro d’Italia this Sunday.

It was a great race to follow.

By the way, what a great color combination (orange, white, dark blue and PINK.)
