There are two Japanese riders, Fumiyuki Beppu of skil shimano and Yukiya Arashiro of Bbox Bouygues Telecom, riding TDF this year. Apparently, no japanese rider has ever finished the tour. I hope one of these guys will reach Paris this year. Good Luck!!!
今年のレースには日本人が二人出場してます。過去のレースでパリまで到達した日本人はいないそうです。今年は二人にがんばってもらいたいです。
Artist, Gaye Chan , chair of Art and Art History Department at University of Hawaii, Manoa, has been creating many cool public art projects in Hawaii. Chan’s simple yet effective ideas make me think about a role of an artist in contemporary society. Check out her site: Eating in Public for more info.
I used to see these hand-made bikes(Sekine, Marubeni Yamaguchi, Eiryu, Mizutani, Maruka and more) in Japan all the time as a kid. Everything (tofu, noodles, ice block, etc…) came on these work bikes. However, as Japanese got richer and lazier, many manufactures could not ride the wave of Japanese modernization.

He has also made a beautiful calender from his photos.
